    Bosnia Considers, Then Rejects, Russian Entrepreneur's Citizenship Bid

    The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina initially planned to consider granting citizenship to Russian entrepreneur Ilya Perekopsky, a co-founder of VKontakte and Telegram, at a meeting on July 30. Perekopsky, who has been working in Bosnia and Herzegovina since early 2022, sought citizenship to invest in the country's economy. However, the proposal was removed from the agenda after four ministers opposed it. Perekopsky is a close associate of Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
