Jefferson Pérez Assumes Presidency of Ecuadorian Olympic Committee
After months of institutional disputes, Jefferson Pérez, a double Olympic medalist, has officially assumed the presidency of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE). The appointment follows an agreement between the Ecuadorian state and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to resolve the administrative crisis within the organization. Pérez, who previously served as vice president, takes over from Jorge Delgado, who resigned due to non-compliance with sports law regulations. The new COE board aims to ensure the stability and participation of Ecuadorian athletes in the Olympic cycle leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Games.8 sourcesSee all sources
