    Brazil, US Resume Tariff Negotiations

    Brazil and the United States are resuming negotiations on tariffs imposed by the U.S. on Brazilian products. The talks, set for Monday (31), will be led by aides to Presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Donald Trump. The Brazilian government expects the meeting to focus on tariff issues and not be conclusive. Brazil does not expect progress before elections and anticipates more meetings will be necessary. The U.S. tariffs, which include a 25% surcharge on six sectors and a 12.5% surcharge on dozens of countries, have been criticized by Brazil. The country has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO).

    Kagawa Governor Ikeda Wins Landslide Re-election

    Toyohito Ikeda, the incumbent governor of Kagawa Prefecture, has secured re-election in Sunday's gubernatorial poll.
