Earthquakes Shake Japan
Two earthquakes struck Japan within hours of each other on Sunday. The first, a magnitude 5.9, hit the Kanto region, including Tokyo, early in the morning. It was followed by a magnitude 6.0 earthquake off Hokkaido later in the day. No tsunami alerts were issued, and no major damage or injuries were reported.
