Malaysia and Singapore Jointly Dismantle International Kidnapping Syndicate
Malaysian and Singaporean police collaborated to dismantle an international kidnapping syndicate that targeted foreigners. A shootout during a raid in Alor Setar, Kedah resulted in the deaths of two foreign suspects. Police rescued a Singaporean man and a Chinese woman who were held captive and blindfolded. Six suspects, including five Chinese nationals and one Malaysian, were arrested.
