Israel Prepared to Shoot Down FlyDubai Plane in Hijacking Scenario
Israel was prepared to shoot down a FlyDubai plane carrying over 150 Israelis if it was confirmed to be hijacked and continued towards Israel, according to multiple Israeli sources cited by CBS News. The protocol involved fighter jets inspecting the cockpit and passenger cabin, and if the plane was deemed a threat, the final decision to shoot it down would rest with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This readiness was triggered when the plane suddenly descended and lost contact with the cockpit, sparking fears of a hijacking or attack.80 sourcesSee all sources
