    NASA Abandons Swift Telescope Rescue Mission

    NASA has called off its attempt to save the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, which is falling out of orbit due to increased solar activity. The mission, called Swift Boost, aimed to use a privately-built spacecraft named LINK to capture and boost the satellite to a higher, more stable orbit. However, the mission was abandoned due to persistent attitude control issues with LINK. NASA will continue to gather data from LINK's proximity operations with Swift and will prioritize finding new options to react rapidly to cosmic events using current missions.

    Comcast Turns Routers into Motion Sensors

    Comcast is activating free Wi-Fi motion sensing on millions of Xfinity gateways, allowing its routers to detect movement at home. The feature, part of the new Xfinity Shield service, works by monitoring disruptions in Wi-Fi signals between the router and connected devices. It sends activity alerts through the Xfinity app and offers Home, Away, and nighttime monitoring modes.
