Blanche Clears Hurdle for Attorney General Appointment
Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche has removed a major obstacle to his permanent appointment by abolishing a controversial $1.8 billion compensation fund. Republican Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis, who had withheld their support until the fund was discontinued, have now agreed to vote for Blanche's confirmation. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Blanche's nomination on Tuesday, and a full Senate vote is expected later in the week.10 sourcesSee all sources
