Mexico Seizes 1.17 Tons of Cocaine in Pacific Operation
The Mexican Navy seized nearly 1.17 tons of suspected cocaine and captured six people, three Mexicans and three Ecuadorians, during a maritime operation in the Pacific Ocean. The operation occurred about 851 kilometers south of Acapulco, Guerrero, during maritime patrol and surveillance duties. The Navy located a small boat equipped with three outboard motors on which the six crew members were traveling. Upon inspecting it, agents found 39 bundles containing approximately 1,170 kilograms of a substance with characteristics of cocaine. They also seized around 2,450 liters of fuel distributed in 49 drums, three satellite communication equipment and two radio beacons, as well as the boat.
