Mexico Seizes 1.17 Tons of Cocaine in Pacific Operation

The Mexican Navy seized nearly 1.17 tons of suspected cocaine and captured six people, three Mexicans and three Ecuadorians, during a maritime operation in the Pacific Ocean. The operation occurred about 851 kilometers south of Acapulco, Guerrero, during maritime patrol and surveillance duties. The Navy located a small boat equipped with three outboard motors on which the six crew members were traveling. Upon inspecting it, agents found 39 bundles containing approximately 1,170 kilograms of a substance with characteristics of cocaine. They also seized around 2,450 liters of fuel distributed in 49 drums, three satellite communication equipment and two radio beacons, as well as the boat. The detainees and the seized material were handed over to the Attorney General's Office of the Republic (FGR) for investigation.
