    La Paz Declares Red Alert Amidst Drought Risk and Low Water Levels

    La Paz Mayor César Dockweiler has declared a red alert due to the risk of drought and low water levels in Hampaturi dams, caused by the El Niño phenomenon. The city is experiencing a significant decrease in water storage levels, with only half of the dry season passed. The mayor has called for immediate commitment from all La Paz institutions to protect water reserves. A campaign promoting responsible water use has been launched, and technical reports will be requested from EPSAS. The UMSA has also warned of the situation and called for water conservation.     Hungary Restarts Paks Nuclear Power Plant as Danube Water Levels Rise

    Hungary's Paks Nuclear Power Plant, which provides nearly half of the country's electricity, has begun restarting operations after water levels in the Danube River rose. The plant was forced to scale back output due to historically low water levels, which limited its cooling capacity. Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced the restart of the second reactor on Monday, with the first reactor having already resumed operations earlier. The plant had been operating at only about 10% capacity with just one of its eight turbines running. The recent rise in the Danube's level has provided some relief to the power grid.
