    STF Minister Nullifies Parliamentary Amendments by Party Presidents Without Mandate

    Minister Flávio Dino of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) ruled on Sunday (23) that any amendments requested or indicated by presidents of parties without a mandate in Congress and former parliamentarians should be considered null. Dino ordered the presidents of the Chamber and Senate to inform their technical areas that party leaders who are not deputies and senators do not have the right to indicate amendments. The minister also warned that any non-compliance may result in disciplinary responsibility being investigated. Dino's decision comes after he determined the suspension of suspected amendments and the blocking of funds linked to Valdemar Neto, president of the PL, and former Chamber of Deputies President Eduardo Cunha (Republicanos-MG).
