Nova Poshta Reduces Free Storage Period for Shipments to Five Days

Nova Poshta, a leading Ukrainian logistics company, has announced a reduction in the free storage period for shipments at its branches. Effective October 1, the free storage period has been shortened from seven to five days for parcels, documents, cargo, tires, and automobile discs. Trump Tariffs Threaten Free Chips and Salsa at Restaurants

President Donald Trump's 17% tariff on Mexican tomatoes, coupled with recent bad weather, has caused tomato prices to skyrocket, potentially leading to the end of free chips and salsa at Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. The tariffs, imposed in July 2025, were intended to protect American farmers and boost domestic production. However, the increased cost of tomatoes, which account for roughly 90% of U.S. imports, has pushed up food costs by about 35% over the past two years. Some restaurants are now considering charging customers for what was once a complimentary staple.
