UNAM to Hold Control Exam Amid Admission Process Irregularities

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has announced that it will conduct an in-person control exam following allegations of cheating and irregularities in the admission process for the 2026 undergraduate program. The decision was made after statistical analysis showed unusual anomalies in the results of the online admission contest. The control exam will affect selected candidates and those who scored high enough to potentially gain admission, with places being assigned based on the results of the new evaluation. The exam will include around 58,000 applicants and will consist of 120 questions. The measure aims to verify that those who obtained the necessary scores have the required knowledge and did not receive external help during the evaluation. The control test will be handwritten and no date or venues have been specified yet.
