Gujarat Braces for Heavy Rainfall, Issues Red Alerts

Gujarat is preparing for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the next few days, with a Weather Watch Group meeting held in Gandhinagar to review monsoon preparedness. A red alert has been issued for Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi and Dang districts on July 31. Kheda district administration has stepped up preparedness with control rooms operational round the clock, officials on duty, and arrangements for shelter, food, and medical teams. Heavy rainfall warning is also in effect for Maharashtra. The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force have been kept on standby for relief and rescue operations.
