Indiana Senate President Rodric Bray Steps Down After Redistricting Dispute

Indiana Senate President Rodric Bray, who led the charge against a Trump-backed mid-decade congressional redistricting proposal, has announced he will not seek reelection. The proposal, which was expected to give Republicans an advantage in all nine congressional districts, was voted down by Bray and 20 other Republican senators in May. Bray's decision comes after a fierce backlash from conservatives and President Trump, who accused Bray of costing the Republican Party two U.S. House seats and election losses for his colleagues. Bray will remain in the Senate until 2028 but will step aside as Senate leader in November.
