The Venezuelan government and the United Nations (UN) have launched a joint 60-day plan to assess recovery needs following the double earthquake on June 24. The 'Post-Disaster Needs Assessment' will provide a common and objective view of damages, losses, and recovery needs. A multidisciplinary team will work together to evaluate nine socio-economic sectors in the most affected regions of Venezuela. The plan is being developed under the leadership of the Venezuelan government with technical support from the UN system, the European Union, and the World Bank.
