China, Switzerland Sign Expanded Free Trade Agreement
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Swiss President Guy Parmelin signed an upgraded trade accord in Beijing, granting Switzerland unusually free access to China and bucking the global trend towards protectionism. The deal, announced in August, gives 99.8% of Swiss exports duty-free access to China, significantly expanding market access for Swiss products. The agreement comes amidst growing trade tensions and increasing protectionist measures worldwide, including from the US and EU. Swiss companies welcome the deal, which provides stability in uncertain times.10 sourcesSee all sources
