17 EU Countries Demand Preservation of Funding for Agriculture and Cohesion Policy
Seventeen EU countries, including Slovakia, have called for the preservation of funding for agriculture and cohesion policy in the EU's long-term budget for 2028 to 2034. They made this appeal in response to demands from some member states for significant cuts in the future budget. The countries listed in a document sent to Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin on Thursday stated that the EU's new priorities require additional resources, but they insisted that funding for agriculture and cohesion policy must be maintained. The document was prepared by Italy and Romania and was also signed by Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Spain.5 sourcesSee all sources
