Kyrgyzstan Launches First Satellite
President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan traveled to Los Angeles to oversee the launch of the country's first national satellite. The satellite, developed using Russian technology, was successfully launched into orbit on October 1 using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The satellite, a joint project between Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates, will be used for monitoring agricultural lands, glaciers, water objects, and natural ecosystem changes. Data collected will be integrated into state digital systems to create maps and analytical models.17 sourcesSee all sources
