    West Nile Fever Outbreak in Andalusia

    The Andalusian government has confirmed a new case of West Nile fever in Bollullos de la Mitación, bringing the total number of cases registered this season in the province of Seville to twelve. The patient, a 56-year-old man, is the third case confirmed in a single day, following two other cases in La Puebla del Río and Coria del Río. All patients have been diagnosed with meningoencephalitis caused by West Nile virus and remain hospitalized. So far, twelve cases have been diagnosed in Andalusia, all in the province of Seville, with seventeen municipalities currently on alert for the circulation of West Nile virus.
