Artek Zakarpattia Camp Conditions: 12 Children Per Room, Rotten Food, Mold, and Safety Concerns
An inspection of the Artek Zakarpattia camp revealed unsanitary conditions, including flies in the dining block, spoiled vegetables and fruits stored with fresh ones, and inadequate storage for products. The rooms accommodated up to 12 children each with worn-out furniture and mold on the walls. There were not enough shower facilities, and water was only available at certain times. The shelter was damp, moldy, and lacked proper equipment. Children reported staying in the building during air raid alerts due to insufficient safety measures.
