Earthquake Aftermath: Rescue Efforts and Evacuations in Colombia
Following a 7.4 earthquake in Colombia on August 10, rescue efforts are underway in various cities, including Pereira, Cali, and Dosquebradas. Buildings have collapsed, and there are signs of life under the rubble. Authorities are asking for silence to detect any sounds or signs of life. Dozens of families have been evacuated due to the risk of further collapse. In Pereira, the center was heavily affected, and several structures collapsed. In Buenaventura, more than 50 families are affected as their homes have been reduced to rubble. Farmers in Versalles, Valle del Cauca, have also been affected and are asking for help.
