Ukraine's Locomotive Reserve Nearly Exhausted Due to Russian Attacks
Ukraine's supply of locomotives is critically low due to continuous Russian attacks on railway infrastructure, according to multiple sources including the Financial Times. Over 500 locomotives have been damaged or destroyed since the start of the conflict, hampering Ukraine's ability to replace out-of-service rolling stock. The shortage is affecting port logistics, with three locomotives lost at the TIS terminal in the port of 'Yuzhny'. Kyiv is negotiating with European countries that have the same track gauge for the supply of new locomotives.65 sourcesSee all sources
