    Trial Begins for Murder and Dismemberment of Model Abby Choi in Hong Kong

    The High Court in Hong Kong started the trial against three members of the family of the ex-husband of model Abby Choi, accused of planning her murder and dismembering her body in February 2023 following a property dispute. The ex-husband, Alex Kwong, his father, Kwong Kau, and his brother, Anthony Kwong, face charges of murder and obstruction of lawful burial. The trial is expected to last 45 sessions.

    Former Shenzhen Mayor Chen Jianhua Under Investigation

    Chen Jianhua, a former mayor of Shenzhen and member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, is under investigation for serious disciplinary violations. The 55-year-old, who served as mayor from April 2021 until last month, is suspected of corruption and illegal activities. Born in Jilin, Chen studied chemical engineering at Tsinghua University and worked for Sinopec before entering politics.
