Wall Street Slides Amid Oil Price Rise and Bond Yield Increase

Wall Street experienced a downturn on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.67% to 51,481.51 points, the S&P 500 index falling 0.77% to 7,683.69 points, and the Nasdaq Composite losing 0.92% to 26,820.38 points. The decline was attributed to a rise in oil prices, which reached over $107 per barrel for Brent crude, and an increase in US Treasury bond yields. The US rejected Iran's latest proposal, further tightening global energy supplies and exacerbating inflation concerns.

Indian Stock Markets Tumble on Geopolitical Uncertainty, Oil Price Surge

Indian stock markets witnessed a significant downturn on Monday, September 28, with the Sensex plunging over 1,100 points and the Nifty dropping below 22,900. The decline was driven by renewed geopolitical uncertainty over the Strait of Hormuz, which pushed crude oil prices higher, and heavy foreign institutional selling. Markets opened lower and extended their losing streak throughout the day, with all sectoral indices trading in the red. Banking, financials, and realty were among the top losers.
