Will Raiders' Fernando Mendoza Play This Season?
Fernando Mendoza, the Las Vegas Raiders' first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, has yet to play a regular-season snap. Despite the team's 3-1 start, veteran Kirk Cousins has been the starter, allowing Mendoza to watch and learn. However, with the Raiders' recent losses and Mendoza's solid performance in garbage time against the Patriots, some analysts predict he could start as early as Week 7. The Raiders' offense has struggled with a lackluster run game and questionable offensive line, which could impact Mendoza's development if he takes over too soon.16 sourcesSee all sources
