    Turkish Air Force Welcomes National Aircraft HÜRKUŞ-II

    The Turkish Air Force has accepted the first HÜRKUŞ-II aircraft, marking the beginning of the era of national aircraft in the force. Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the HÜRKUŞ-II is a New Generation Basic Training Aircraft that has achieved exceptional flight performance data, making it the best in its class. With over 250 modern basic trainer aircraft demanded internationally, the HÜRKUŞ-II is expected to secure export contracts with several countries. The aircraft will be used in the initial transition chain from basic training to jet training and eventually combat aircraft, with trainee pilots developing their basic flying and piloting skills using HÜRKUŞ-II. The first flight of HÜRKUŞ-II took place on December 29, 2024, and after completing approximately 300 flights for 2,256 test points, it received its Military Type Certificate on September 9, 2026.
