A broad low-pressure trough is expected to affect the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea east of Luzon later this week, with the possibility of two low-pressure areas forming within the trough. The Hong Kong Observatory predicts that one of these low-pressure areas in the northern South China Sea will develop and move towards the Hainan Island area in the next two to three days, bringing stronger winds and heavy rain along the coast of Guangdong in the middle of this week.
