    Russian Drugs Show Promise in Treating Adolescent Obesity

    Russian pharmaceutical company 'Geropharm' has presented promising results from clinical trials of its drugs 'Semaglumet', 'Semaglutide Next', 'Sedjaro', and 'Semavik Next' for treating adolescent obesity. The trials involved around 800 children aged 12-17 with II-III degree obesity. After six months of therapy, participants showed an average weight loss of approximately 20%, transitioning from severe obesity to a healthy weight range. There was also a decrease in associated chronic diseases and an improvement in lifestyle. The drugs are expected to be available for treating this condition in teenagers by 2027.
