    Eyüp Sultan Municipality Mayor Arrested, Removed from Post

    Eyüp Sultan Municipality Mayor Mithat Bülent Özmen was arrested and subsequently removed from his post following an investigation into corruption allegations. The investigation targeted Eyüp Sultan Municipality and resulted in the arrest of 13 suspects, including Mayor Özmen, on charges of 'being a member of a criminal organization', 'accepting bribes', and 'disrupting public tenders'. The Istanbul Governorship announced that a meeting of the Eyüp District Municipality Council will be held on October 10 to elect an acting mayor.

    Pedro Sánchez to Launch Campaign in Dos Hermanas

    Pedro Sánchez, the President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, will kick off his pre-campaign for the upcoming general elections on November 29 with an event in Dos Hermanas, Seville. This is the same location where he started his campaign for the 2017 primaries. Sánchez will be accompanied by María Jesús Montero, the Secretary General of the PSOE-A and Vice-Secretary General of the PSOE federal. The event will take place on Saturday, October 10.
