40 Migrants Rescued in Balearic Islands on Monday
A total of 40 migrants were rescued in the Balearic Islands on Monday, August 3, aboard four boats. The first boat was located early in the morning about 3.7 miles southeast of the island of Cabrera with 26 migrants on board, mostly sub-Saharan. Hours later, another boat was rescued about 8 miles southeast of Cala Llombards, on the island of Mallorca, with 28 migrants on board. Later in the afternoon, two more boats were rescued, one with 16 migrants off Formentera and another with 18 migrants at the entrance to the port of Cabrera.
