    Xylitol Linked to Higher Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke

    A large-scale study involving over 17,000 people found that high blood levels of xylitol, a common artificial sweetener used in gum, mint candies, and other products, were associated with a higher risk of heart attack, stroke, and death.
