George Santos Settles CFTC Probe Over Kalshi Bets
Former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) has agreed to pay $35,000 to settle with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) over wagers he placed on the State of the Union earlier this year on Kalshi. Santos placed bets on whether he would attend President Trump's address in February, while also posting on social media about his attendance plans. The CFTC alleges that Santos manipulated the market by placing trades predicting he would not attend, while publicly indicating he planned to do so. As part of the settlement, Santos is temporarily banned from trading on Kalshi for three years.15 sourcesSee all sources
