Turkey's 'Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha' Begins Oil, Gas Exploration Off Trabzon Coast
Turkey's first seismic research vessel, 'Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha', has initiated oil and natural gas exploration and seismic data collection activities off the coast of Trabzon. Purchased for $130 million in 2012, the vessel belongs to the state-owned TPAO company and can study geological structures up to 8,000 meters deep.
