    TEPCO Starts 22nd Round of Radioactive Water Release from Fukushima Daiichi

    Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) began the 22nd round of treated water release from its Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant on March 30, 2023. This is the fourth round of the fiscal year 2026, with about 7,800 tons of water containing approximately 130 billion becquerels of tritium scheduled to be released over 40 days. The water will be diluted with seawater and discharged 1 kilometer offshore.
