Patriarch Kirill Calls Creation of Russian Nuclear Weapons 'Divine Blessing'
Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church has stated that the creation of nuclear weapons in Sarov was a 'divine blessing' and 'God's mercy' for Russia. He believes that the atomic bomb, created in a city where the holy monk Seraphim prayed, saved the country from destruction and enslavement by enemies. Kirill made these remarks after liturgies at various monasteries, including the Holy Trinity Svyato-Troice-Seraphim-Diveevo Monastery, on the Day of the Discovery of the Relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov.10 sourcesSee all sources
