14-Year-Old Girl Attacks School in Bitlis, Turkey
A 14-year-old girl identified as B.T. opened fire at her former school, Kalkanlı Village Primary and Secondary School in Bitlis Hizan, using a pump-action shotgun. The attack, which occurred on October 14, was the eighth such incident in Turkish schools over the past seven months. B.T., who had been threatening to carry out an attack for over a year, was motivated by disputes with teachers and family members. Her 16-year-old sister, H., was aware of the plan and sent messages to B.T. during the attack. Both B.T. and her older brother, who owned the gun, were arrested.3 sourcesSee all sources
