US Lawmakers Introduce Bill to Block Russian Diesel Deal
A group of US lawmakers, led by Democrat Gregory Meeks, have introduced a bipartisan bill aiming to block a recent agreement between the US and Russia regarding diesel fuel exports. The bill seeks to nullify a general license issued by the US Department of the Treasury that exempts Russian diesel exports from US sanctions until April 7, 2027. It also proposes to ban new sanctions exemptions and American investments in Russian energy. The bill has been supported by 17 members of the House of Representatives, including 16 Democrats and 1 Republican.11 sourcesSee all sources
