US Tightens Sanctions Against Cuba
The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued new sanctions against Cuba, effective from September 30. Key changes include prohibiting US banks from opening and maintaining accounts for Cuban private entrepreneurs, blocking existing accounts, revoking authorization for 'U-turn' transactions, imposing secondary sanctions on foreign financial institutions conducting large transactions with sanctioned entities, and restricting travel for US citizens to Cuba. These measures aim to strengthen the US sanctions regime against Cuba.30 sourcesSee all sources
