Lebanon and Israel to Hold Talks in Rome
A Lebanese delegation, led by Ambassador Simon Karam, has arrived in Rome for direct negotiations with Israel, mediated by the US. The talks, scheduled from August 4 to 6, aim to advance the implementation of a trilateral framework agreement, resolve border issues, and work towards a comprehensive peace and security agreement. Lebanon has insisted on discussing economic issues only in the presence of Americans, while Israel seeks the return of Lebanese-held bodies of Israeli soldiers and civilians. A high-level US delegation, consisting of around 15 representatives, will participate in the talks.15 sourcesSee all sources
