Prebilovci Massacre Commemoration Marks 85th Anniversary
The annual commemoration of the Ustasha crime in Prebilovci, Herzegovina, took place, marking 85 years since the massacre of Serbs in the village. Over 830 Serbs were killed, mostly thrown alive into pits, with women and children subjected to extreme cruelty. The event remembered teacher Stan Arnaut, who was raped and killed while protecting her students. The crime was covered up post-war, but excavations in the 1990s revealed over 4,000 victims. The memorial ossuary was later destroyed in the 1992 conflict.3 sourcesSee all sources
