Ringgit Movement Amidst Global Central Bank Meetings

The Malaysian Ringgit experienced fluctuations against major and regional currencies, primarily driven by market sentiment and global events. It opened higher against the US dollar on Tuesday, influenced by the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and Bank of Japan (BOJ) meetings. However, it closed lower against the USD due to investor caution ahead of the FOMC meeting, which started on Wednesday. Brent crude oil prices, currently around US$105.68 per barrel, also impacted the ringgit's performance. Other currencies like the Euro, Yen, Pound, Singapore dollar, Thai Baht, Indonesian Rupiah, and Philippine Peso saw the ringgit strengthen or weaken against them depending on the day.
