    Over 1,300 Convicts Freed in Kazakhstan Amnesty

    Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported that over 1,300 convicted individuals have been released under a recent amnesty. This includes 620 people freed from correctional institutions, 724 individuals released from probation, and over 730 convicts whose sentences were reduced. The amnesty, signed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is a one-time measure and does not apply to those convicted of certain severe crimes.
