Drunk Shakespeare Theater Producer Sues Amazon Over Trademark Use in 'Off Campus'
Brass Jar, the company behind the Drunk Shakespeare-branded theatrical shows, has sued Amazon for allegedly using its trademarks without permission in an episode of Prime Video's YA ice hockey romantic-drama 'Off Campus'. The lawsuit claims that the show's fourth episode features an extended sequence set at a fictional college Drunk Shakespeare production, with multiple lines of dialogue referencing 'Drunk Shakespeare', without Brass Jar's authorization or consent. No monetary damages were specified, but Brass Jar is seeking attorneys' fees, treble damages, and/or statutory damages of up to $2 million per counterfeit mark.6 sourcesSee all sources
