Germany Faces Severe Skilled Worker Shortage by 2029
A study by the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) projects a significant shortage of skilled workers in Germany by 2029. The gap is expected to widen from approximately 370,000 in 2025 to 723,000 by the end of 2029. The retail sector is predicted to face the most severe shortage, with around 39,100 unfilled positions.
