   Escape from Electric Fraud Park in Myanmar; KNU Rescues 23 People

   Over 30 people held captive in a 4-story building used for electric fraud in the Three Pagodas area of the Myanmar-Thai border in Karen State managed to escape by knocking out security guards and taking their keys. The pursuers, armed with electric batons and including DKBA personnel, caught up with some escapees, leaving them injured. A man and a woman were recaptured near a temple. The escapees sought refuge at a KNU checkpoint, and the pursuers retreated. KNU successfully rescued 23 escapees, including two Europeans and several Myanmar women, mostly aged between 20 and 30. The Wa Electric Fraud Group moved to this area after the '1027 Operation' and colluded with local armed groups like DKBA. The park is believed to be controlled by a senior officer of DKBA's 2nd Tactical Command. The U.S. and EU have previously imposed sanctions on DKBA and several high-ranking electric fraud figures. The park's security has been beefed up, and entry and exit are now strictly controlled.
