Imprisoned Albanian Mayor Uses AI Avatar to Address Voters
Erion Veliaj, the mayor of Tirana, Albania, is using an AI-generated avatar to communicate with voters while he remains in prison on corruption charges. The avatar, which appeared on Veliaj's official Instagram account, promised free school meals for children in the capital. This isn't the first instance of a politician using AI for public communication while incarcerated.
