    Japanese Journalist Detained in Russia on Suspicion of Spying

    A Japanese journalist working for the 'Hokkaido Shimbun' newspaper has been detained in Russia's Sakhalin region on suspicion of spying. The journalist, whose name has not been disclosed, was reportedly collecting information related to Russia's defense capabilities for Japan's intelligence agency. He was apprehended before his departure from Russia and subsequently taken to Moscow, where he was jailed by the Lefortovo court.

    Thai Police Arrest Drug Suspects, Seize Millions of Methamphetamine Pills

    Thai police recently apprehended several drug suspects, seizing millions of methamphetamine pills in various operations. On October 11, a 34-year-old man was arrested in Bangkok for allegedly orchestrating two drug trafficking cases involving methamphetamine. The following day, joint anti-drug operations targeted four major drug networks, resulting in the seizure of over 13.5 million methamphetamine pills, 280 kg of crystal meth, and 980 ecstasy tablets. In another operation, police in Nakhon Si Thammarat province seized nearly 170,000 methamphetamine pills, marked with Chinese characters 'Zhiyuan' and '3A'. A nationwide sweep on October 12 resulted in 719 arrests and the seizure of over 280,000 ecstasy pills, firearms, and other banned substances.
