Texas A&M Unveils Statue for Legendary Coach R.C. Slocum
Texas A&M is honoring its most successful football coach, R.C. Slocum, with a statue to be unveiled on September 4, 2016, at the north end of Kyle Field. Slocum won three Southwest Conference titles, one Big 12 championship, and was inducted into both the Texas Sports Hall of Fame (2005) and the College Football Hall of Fame (2012). After his coaching career, he served twice as interim Athletic Director (2019, 2024) and retired in 2025.
