    Earthquakes in Granada: Over 12,500 Claims and 35 Million in Damages

    A series of earthquakes in Granada since August 14 has resulted in over 12,500 claims for material damage, with preliminary estimates exceeding 35 million euros. The College of Insurance Mediators of Granada reports that most claims are related to dwellings and community of owners, affecting 74 municipalities in Granada province, along with others in Malaga and Jaen. Despite the volume of claims, no serious structural damages have been detected in Granada capital.

    Kazakhstan's Renewable Energy Share Quadruples in Six Years

    The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reports that the share of electricity generated by renewable energy sources (RES) in the country's energy balance has increased fourfold in six years, from 2% to 8%. This growth is attributed to systemic measures, auctions for RES projects, investment attraction, and new generating capacities. There are now 172 RES facilities with a total capacity of over 3.8 GW, mainly consisting of wind and solar power plants. Last year, these facilities produced 8.6 billion kWh of electricity, with nine new facilities commissioned. Plans are in place to launch another 10 facilities by 2026 and implement about 100 projects with a total capacity of 3.6 GW.
